Purpose & Objectives

Purpose

The purpose of this experience is to provide professional development that will build secondary school leadership teams that can aggressively lead improvement in curriculum, instruction and student achievement in Ohio middle and high schools.

Objectives

This is a multi-activity CTE leadership development program for a cohort group of 20 individuals. The objectives for this group include:

• Developing leadership capabilities
• Developing an understanding of policy development processes and the impact on CTAE
• Developing an understanding of instructional leadership
• Establishing meaningful personal and organizational partnerships and networks
• Identifying strategies and procedures for data driven decisions, and
• Leading educational reform by helping their organizations to overcome resistance to change, accept new changes, and ground these changes in a new organizational culture

Individuals from this cohort group will work with teams within their schools that have been trained in an SREB leadership curriculum training module to create professional development experiences that will build secondary school leadership teams that can lead improvement in curriculum, instruction and student achievement in Ohio middle and high schools. These teams will participate in the SREB training experiences and collaboratively develop action plans that will lead to improving curriculum, instruction and student achievement.
